Hey, Vertical!
When you think about revival, what comes to mind? Maybe you think of masses of people, great displays of emotion and energy, or a famous preacher calling stadiums to repent. How often to do you associate revival with a few faithful people showing up to a prayer meeting to pray?
If you look throughout history, you'll find that prayer was the precedent for the most significant revivals. When talking about revival, Jonathan Edwards said:
"It is God's will, through his wonderful grace, that the prayers of his saints should be one great and principal means of carrying on the designs of Christ's kingdom in the world. When God has something very great to accomplish for his church, 'tis his will that there should precede it the extraordinary prayers of his people."
Revival follows prayer, so we're calling the church to come pray with us at our July Prayer, Praise, & Picnic gathering on Wednesday, July 15th at 6:30 PM. Let's be a people of whose ordinary prayers move our God to do extraordinary things.
